Schindlerhof

The basic principles of our game culture

  1. The Schindlerhof wants to create something memorable. We want our guests to be delighted, not just satisfied. Our daily interaction is based on the values of enjoyment, harmony and freedom, which are also integral components in our entrepreneurial vision of meaningful activity.
  2. We run our company honestly, reliably and fairly, being guided by humanity, liberality and tolerance. The development of personal uniqueness and individuality makes our work creative and productive. Together, we establish values and new objectives. We guarantee the free, unhindered development of all the people and companies we are in contact with. This mutual esteem is the basis for our claim to the Schindlerhof’s development.
  3. We meet our guests’ high expectations without any compromises. Our services win and retain our guests’ trust. So we are constantly attentive to their wishes and worries by deliberately viewing our surroundings from their point of view. The guests set the opening hours at the Schindlerhof, for we know that they also pay the salaries. We use customer satisfaction discussions, regular customer surveys and assessment cards to ensure permanent feed-back. Complaints are opportunities for improvement.
  4. We meet our social and communal obligations. We are not just a business asset for the surrounding area, but also represent spiritual and social values. So we enhance the well-being of our guests and business partners, suppliers, banks and official bodies, the public and, above all, our staff. The benefits we create earn us a high level of recognition.
  5. We acknowledge our environmental responsibility. So we encourage awareness of ecological relationships by actively contributing to a future that’s worth living, in all our corporate decisions, investments and daily activities. We promote our guests’ health and well-being with our imaginative and enjoyable natural cuisine. Our restaurant only serves fresh, high-quality products that are in season at the moment. We try to ensure, as far as possible, that all foodstuffs are produced in a natural, environmental way, without any genetic engineering.
We want our guests’ stay with us to be a healthy one. All our rooms are living spaces, habitats, constructed solely of natural materials, with no substances that impact on the environment. We remain committed to high quality objectives, and have set defined and reliable standards for this, as shown by our certification to DIN EN ISO 14001:1996. Organisational manuals record each individual process in binding form. We cannot accept mistakes in these areas. However, when trying out new ideas or improvements, we are very tolerant of mistakes. No risk, no fun.
  6. We strive for mutual corporate targets, mutually worked out. So we employ highly capable specialist staff in all areas of the company. Their friendliness, creativity, flexibility, motivation and specialist know-how are exemplary. As all staff participate in the company’s success, they achieve the highest recognition for initiative and commitment. By delegating authority and tasks, the owners, Klaus, Renate and Nicole Kobjoll are ensured greater scope for development and quality of life. We apply elite standards when selecting and training our trainees. All members of a team have the opportunity to develop their own personality. The seminars covered at the Schindlerhof Academy give our staff and above all our trainees the opportunity to expand their specialist knowledge and skills. Whatever the job, the rule is: as much individuality as possible and as much conformity as necessary to achieve the goal.
  7. We have given our company a distinct structure, with areas of responsibility clearly defined. By granting the greatest possible freedom of decision, we encourage our staff to develop their imagination and creativity. Anybody can make a mistake (up to a point!), as long as they learn from it. Transparency and a comprehensive flow of information are ensured. "High trust", meaning confidence, friendship and mutual understanding, is the basis for living and working together in a team.
  8. The image we aim for at the Schindlerhof is that we stay young and cheerful, while providing exceptional, first-class service. We set trends. There is no gap between our high claims and our actual performance. Our image is in harmony with our inner reality.
  9. We produce a profit that makes the company as financially independent as possible, produces growth in accordance with our targets, ensures jobs and apprenticeships and creates new ones, for long-term corporate success.
  10. We want to be successful: there’s little pleasure without success. However, we take our competitors seriously. We enjoy bench-marking our performance against theirs. We create space for the successful development of our company, not just today, but also in the medium and long term.

The rules of the game

  1. Our activities are focussed on our guests. So all our staff are, above all, hosts and hostesses, for whom warmth and friendliness are a prime consideration.
  2. All members of the company orientate their activity and behaviour towards the well-being of our guests and the company. This is made possible by the transparency of all our corporate targets and the deployment of staff in accordance with their aptitudes and abilities.
  3. The success of our company results from the success of our fellow-entrepreneurs, who can all guide their efforts towards success by their degree of identification with our corporate philosophy.
  4. All our fellow-entrepreneurs apply their know-how and skills to finding new and better approaches to problems. Even good systems can be improved. Changes are only discontinued if they fail to produce any improvement.
  5. Serving comes before deserving. The more benefits we can offer our guests, the more benefit to ourselves. All our staff must recognise that service counts, but it also pays off.
  6. All staff have the opportunity of participating in the company’s philosophy.
